Mariculture
Definition
Mariculture (Estonian merekultuur) is a term feasible for all maritime countries. In wider terms it is a separate field of culture, encompassing the life of sailors and coastal inhabitants. In more specific terms it is a set of customs and traditions in connection with maritime life (the coast and the sea) developed during previous centuries. Intangible and tangible maritime and underwater heritage are traces of the development process of mariculture.
